Porquê “single driver-full range”?

Após anos e anos de audição de vários tipos de colunas, os nossos ouvidos preferem o som mais emotivo e natural dum único altifalante que toca a gama completa de frequências em detrimento de caixas com vários altifalantes.

Isso acontece porque uma coluna com vários altifalantes perde qualidade e naturalidade quando o sinal atravessa o “crossover”, dispositivo responsável pela separação das várias frequências, guiando-as para os respectivos altifalantes. Essa divisão de sinais nunca é perfeita e mesmo quando bem implementada, existem sempre sobreposições e/ou omissões na música ouvida, que nos transmitem uma sensação auditiva pouco natural.

Ao invés, uma caixa devidamente estudada e executada com um único altifalante que se adeque perfeitamente à caixa, vai soar naturalmente melhor; o som flui com mais naturalidade e coerência, o palco sonoro torna-se mais tridimensional e preciso, por vezes holográfico; a experiência musical ganha riqueza e emoção!

Why “single driver-full range”?

After years and years of listening to various types of speakers, our ears prefer the more emotional and natural sound of a single driver that plays the full range of frequencies over speakers with multiple drivers.

This happens because a loudspeaker with several drivers loses quality and naturalness when the signal passes through the “crossover”, a device responsible for separating the various frequencies, guiding them to the respective drivers. This division of signals is never perfect and even when well designed, there are always overlaps and/or omissions in the music heard, which give us an unnatural sensation.

Instead, a properly studied and created box with a single driver that perfectly suits the box will naturally sound better; the sound flows more naturally and coherently, the sound stage becomes more three-dimensional and precise, sometimes holographic; the musical experience gains richness and emotion!
